Hi Lynn, I'm always very moved by needlework in poems. I think it is such a
powerful image to manipulate in the service of poetry. And I think of
writing as sewing words together. The needle is the conscious mind dipping
deep and emerging on a straight track more often than not, the work of the
Muse?
The poem itself. I've just been hit by the power of 'tears' in its double
meaning. There are depth, underlayers in words 'cut' 'pattern' 'threads'.
The poem can work differently for different readers depending what we bring.
You've made possible all sorts of departures of thought and rememberance of
life's pattern and
dicontinuities. Great work. Philip
