This is very very good, others may see different.
I only part read and knew, as they say, we don't need to eat the pie to know
the taste.
Many thanks for this, it holds meaning for me.

#17 The Furniture of Our Mind
Acquired since we were babes in arms,
furniture, threadbare and shopworn,
crowds every corner of every room
of this run-down domicile.
We lack the energy to jettison
overstuffed ottomans and sideboards
unable to hold a chipped teacup,
or need to keep a place to hide
for when the dragons and trolls stampede.
I've considered garage sales
and ads in the local weekly shopper,
and I've a truck to cart away the junque
to the local recycling facility.
But I fear no one will be willing
to seek the way up this one-way road,
dead-ends and trash at the finish;
the dump charges more than I can pay,
even if I could find the wreck's keys.
I'm left with construction of a wing,
though there are no tools at hand,
or to sit in the weak light of dusk,
careful not to stir a lifetime of dust.
