Hmmm. I don't know why, but I keep seeing the same argument all over the
net boards - vers libre v. form. It's a literary war I'd not come across
before, at least in Britain. Perhaps it doesn't matter where poets start.
Many might explore all forms during the course of their writing careers. If
as many don't, that's ok, too, provided they still explore within the
choice they make. I'd rather see discussion about free verse AND form,
rather than pitting one against the other as if the rules of learning and
teaching poetry were set in stone.
