hi bob,
well, no you would not have heard of marjana. she is still very young, but
she has a wonderful, strong voice and some of her images are incredibly
haunting. on her website, there is a "translations" sections, but she has
yet to post her english work there.
thank you for your observations. as for "Ararat" - "rain": i mentioned
Ararat because marjana spent a few years in this wild region, and some of
her family, i believe, originally comes from there.
yevtushenko! oh, i envy you! terrific poet.
i hardly ever write in german even though it is my native tongue (i am
austrian), and i am not a fan of the language, i must say, especially when
spoken by germans; austrian german is much softer.
best,
michi
