Hi Gary,
A canny chuckle of a poem! And "metaphor stains from alloa shirts!" I
really, really, like. I don't know why, I just do. Perhaps because (in my
mind) they're so loudly coloured they're probably beyond the scope of the
wildest metaphor! And then, blatch, one strikes the shirt right in the
chest!
A question (that maybe only a non-american could ask...): if "To Go" (in the
title) means what we, in the UK, probably would describe as a Take Away
(something bought over a counter to eat elsewhere) am I reading it right
that the place with the counter has (real) leather couches and white rugs?
Most take-aways I know have not-wiped-to-clean PVC benches (with the
stuffing seeping out of them) and scratched and peeling lino squares.
