Dear Tom-pussy
>Ok then why doesn't somebody respond to what I've been saying about poetry,
I did
and I do know what you mean about 'being too polite'. I do it all the time.
It is a difficult balance - criticising while remaining constructive. Even
more so when one's output is so low it hardly gives others a fair crack at
returning the 'compliments'.
On balance, I prefer to look for ways to develop poetic understanding, my
own included, because I recognise that it isn't easy or safe. Some of my
favourite poets have died in the attempt. James' toe-tipping poem and
sensitivity to cyber-bullying may irritate people, such as yourself, who are
confident swimmers in rough psychic seas, but he won't develop as poet under
a barrage of invective.
I'd rather neither of you felt the need to storm out of the cat-flap. I can
always delete the louder squauls.
