In the Morning
a small spider stands on stiff limbs
dead
I must toss her in the toilet
flush
No more fruit flies swarm here now
As black coffee is swigged
the sun bites clouds
Heat undulates like dancing bellies
I meditate on the draught
Should my precious roses be watered
I pen a list of responsibilities
enormous as a woolly mammoth
The dogs and other living things
get priority natural law
Independence Day
nears We meet our terrorist fears
Fireworks’ booths sell for charity
The red white blue burst
in night's zion a bouquet
of fire See the stars spangle
Another spider knits her web
The fruit flies have returned
She embraces each one
The insects are enraptured
like firecrackers
other G-dlike emanations
