This is a poem of remembrance , homage and, to a degree, exorcism, I feel.
This longer more detailed version does make the theme clearer than the
first. I am unsure at the moment which i prefer but seem happier with this
latter. regards Arthur.

> Seduction
>
> Eons ago it seems, I took you by the hand
> and led you to a shallow dune;
> being daring, I wanted you
> while waves foamed and retreated,
> beneath stars and the shadows
> of moonlight among sea oats.
>
> You were hesitant, maybe shy,
> but no one was near.
> Whitecaps pounded in. And I,
> elemental as Eve, whispered in your ear.
> Temptress for only a little while.
>
> Now I have a folded flag
> covered with stars, and friends
> whose words are lost to me.
> Instead, I see your smile,
> see other stars, faint pinpoints of fire,
> over your wide shoulders.
>
> Tonight the moon rides high,
> a grinning skull. It lies.
> And I lie close to you, sand scuffed,
> replete, my lips swollen with your kisses,
> and all around us the sea-white foam
> hisses and retreats. I shall believe what I wish.
> There is a sea in Eden, silver at the full.
