This is very effective Gary. I do not accuse you of anything when I say it
reminds me somewhat of The Dollmaker the Jane Fonda movie, and early scenes
remind me of The Grapes of Wrath, the Henry Fonda movie. Very effective as I
say. Im just left asking is it poetry?? But then what is?? Regards Arthur.
Fine Read.
The mage was a very famous photo taken in the Kansas dustbowls in the 30's.
I suspect every image/film/book since was impacted by that one photo. Part
comes from a conversation I had with a friend who lived in Kansas then and
hopped a train to Washington State when 15.
And part of course is influenced by the book Grapes of Wrath which I
finished about 3 weeks ago.
In reality, these are common scenes. I wonder if not almost cliches.
As for being poetry. ? For the live workshop which meets today, I needed a
prose poem and elected to redo this one in that form.
While you are here, does the Scene 1, 2, 3 work for you ro would you drop
them?
Thanks.
Gary
