Hello...I am new to SPM and have recently installed it on my Dell PC with
the new MATLAB 6.1. However, I have discovered that I can do very little
with SPM99 without resulting in "uicontrol Callback" errors. This occurs
anytime I try to use a render (such as slice, section, or 3d render) and
occurrs for most of the preset designs (e.g., multi-subjects covariates
only crashes after I enter the subjects' scans although other designs let
me enter more stuff, only to crash instead of producing the design
matrix). When I start SPM I also get this message:
Initialising SPM..Warning: ISIEEE is obsolete. MATLAB only runs on IEEE
machines.

.......done
Is there some incompatibility with my machine or version of matlab? I am
not attempting anything too esoteric, so I'm hoping more than one person
on this list has seen this before.
Thank you!
