Dear pediatric template-users, dear All:
the Imaging Research Center at Cincinnati Children's is happy to
announce the release of CCHMC2, our updated pediatric reference data
for spatial normalization and segmentation within SPM99 (and beyond :)
The CCHMC2-templates are now based on 200 normal, healthy children aged
5-18, imaged here on a 3 Tesla MR-Scanner using a T1-weighted sequence.
As before, we provide both T1-weighted whole-brain templates and
corresponding pediatric a priori-data, compiled in different collections
based on gender, age, etc. The images are provided in SPM99- "template
space", and again, instructions on installation and usage as well as
further information (on the subjects, scanner, sequence etc.) are
included.
To read more and to download the data free of charge, please go to our
website at www.irc.chmcc.org and follow the "Software"-link. We will ask
you to register, but will not share your information with anyone. Please
also check below for our favorite FAQ's.
Looking forward to your feedback,
Marko
FAQ:
- Yes, we think the current data set is a real improvement. We have
now been able to include 200 normal children, 102 girls, 98
boys. Data processing has also been slightly improved (see the
accompanying text-file for details). And no, there won't
be updates every other week from now on. In fact, due to my
relocating, this will be the last update of this data for
quite some time.
- No, you do not have to re-register in order to get the updated
versions: an e-mail will be sent shortly to all registered
users describing a short-cut to the new data. If you have not
registered yet, go to our website at www.irc.chmcc.org.
It's free, of course.
- No, you are not the only one using it. In fact, there are now more
than 90 groups using this data all over Europe, North
and South America, Asia, and Australia.
- Yes, you can use this data in upcoming versions of SPM (aka SPM2).
John Ashburner was kind enough to give me step-by-step
instructions, which are available on the website.
- No, there are still no other modalities, no T2, no EPI, no PET or
SPECT. Not even FLAIR. Really.
- Yes, that was us on the HBM-cover :) Two more papers are still
under consideration. All are available on our website.
- No, we did not prepare our updated versions in all ways: CCHMC2 is
only available as "first-pass" data, i.e., was processed
based on SPM99-data. However, all other iterations, based
on the first population, are still available from our site.
- Any other questions, let me know. Thanks for your trust !
