I can't figure out what the problem is, but copying and pasting the following
into Matlab may give a few clues....
P = spm_get(Inf,'.img','Select images');
Vi = spm_vol(P);
t1 = cat(1,Vi.dim)
t2 = diff(t1,1,1)
t3 = any(t2,1)
t4 = t3&[1,1,1,0]
any(t4)
The first three elements of all rows of t1 should be identical.
