Interdisciplinary Research on Protein Detection, Quantification and
Removal
Funded by a special initiative from the Department of Health , the University of
Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University are in the process of recruiting an
interdisciplinary team of enthusiastic scientists to work on new methods for
the detection and removal of trace amounts of infectious protein residues on
surgical instruments. The team will be based in custom-built laboratories in
the Joseph Black Building on the King's Building Campus of the University of
Edinburgh but certain aspects of the work will be carried out in the Physics
Department of Heriot-Watt University, the Biomedical Sciences Department
(EU) and the Western General Hospital. Job description for core members of
the team is shown but a significant part of the programme will involve
collaboration between different disciplines. Informal enquiries can be
addressed to the specific principal investigator whose email address is given
below.
