Postdoctoral position in theoretical/computational chemistry at the
University of Helsinki, Finland
A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Physical
Chemistry for one year starting immediately. Salary is to be negotiated.
The successful candidate is expected to carry out research in the field
of theoretical and computational molecular spectroscopy. Experience in
electronic structure calculations and in computer programming is also
useful.
For some of our recent publications see particularly Adv. Chem. Phys.
104, 41 (1998); J. Chem. Phys. 111, 3018 (1999); 115, 5611 (2001); 116,
1825 (2002); Chem. Phys. Lett. 363, 226 (2002). For other publications
see our web page.
The Helsinki molecular spectroscopy group has excellent experimental and
computational facilities. The group consists of about 10 people. Our
laboratory is located in the Chemistry Department building in the new
science campus area. Helsinki being the capital offers many cultural
events all year through. Finland is particularly attractive due to its
wild nature, which includes tens of thousands of lakes and islands.
There are excellent possibilities both for summer and winter sports
activities.
