Those of you who have been following the main Socrel list recently probably
have a good idea of where I'm coming from. I am studying Muslim communities
in Britain and France with a particular interest in charity and social
welfare movements. I am trying to relate these to a Durkheimian theoretical
tradition. I have a Masters degree in Middle East Studies and another one in
Politics and Sociology.
I think this postgrad list is an excellent idea. Any tips on how to get
published especially welcome.
To start off with, can Neil or anyone else explain to me what phenomenology
is exactly? Somebody once told me that I seemed to take a phenomenological
approach and I still have no idea why!
