=================================================================
Under the umbrella of the EC conference 11, 12, 13 November 2002
in Brussels -the official opening of the 6th framework program-
a round table forum related to modelling and simulation will be
organized on Saturday November 9 downtown Brussels. Expression of
interest has been shown in a Network of Excellence on the theme.
It is the goal of the forum to identify possible partners. If you
can attend the November 9 meeting in Brussels at 3 pm (
till about 7 pm) send an e-mail on the address mentioned below before
Wednesday November 6. The exact location will be sent to you by return
mail.
The event addresses unifying approaches, based on modelling and
simulation, to complex, inter-disciplinary design problems. In
particular, how can a combination of meta-modelling, multi-formalism
modelling, and distributed simulation solve inter-disciplinary design
problems.
Research in different application domains, on different formalisms,
as well as on different techniques and tools has hitherto been mostly
isolated. There is a need to unify and integrate the above to address
the analysis and design of truly multi-disciplinary, complex problems.
Focusing explicitly on a framework (and accompanying techniques,
processes, and tools) for multi-disciplinary design, entirely new products
will be designed, quantitative support for decision makers will improve,
and overall quality of systems will increase.
