This is a query from the Ontario (Canada) county of Glengarry which has a
history of settlement befitting its name.
In an issue of the local paper dated 1901 there is a headline remarking on
the success of the "cazootha." It reads, in part, "the cazootha at St Andrews
was a success in every respect. The Highland supper last night was
attended by over five hundred. Piper McDougall of Martintown escorted the
haggies [sic] around the dining hall and played during the progress of the
supper..."
A search of Google allows me to say that there is no use of the word on that
part of the internet visible to ordinary mortals.
