But why would anyone presume that the vehicles with DRLs are representative
of the vehicle fleet as a whole? To the contrary DRLs are on cars with better
brakes and other safety improvements, and likely to be driven by wealthier
and healthier drivers. No causal connection has been established. The road
safety area seems inhabited by people innocent of the basics of statistical
method and logic, or else willing to run roughshod over such issues for the
sake of their latest cause.
