Roehampton University Lecture
As you may know, Peter Briggs came to Roehampton as a Pro-Rector in
September after a long career in the BA. Recognising the key role that the
BA plays in the public engagement with science and technology in the UK and
the crucial significance of this area, I have invited Peter to take a
critical look at past, present and future developments in a special
University Lecture on the evening of Monday, 10 February 2003. Entitled
Getting the conjunction right - changing perceptions of the science/society
interface, the lecture will be in the Chapman Hall, Southlands College, 80
Roehampton Lane, London SW15 beginning at 6.30pm. Tea will be available
from 6pm and refreshments will be served afterwards.
I am delighted to invite you to this event, which I am sure will be both
stimulating and enjoyable. I am especially pleased that Professor Kathy
Sykes of the University of Bristol has agreed to introduce Peter and to join
in a panel discussion after the lecture.
If you are able to join us on this occasion, please send a message to Sandra
Macmillan at [log in to unmask]; I do hope that you will be able
to do so.
Dr Bernadette Porter
