I think it is wrong to lump the people who are critical of genetically
altered foods together with the anti-science movement. I'm pro science,
making a living as a science writer, but I'm against gm food. I'm really
not interested in ingesting more pesticides contained in vegetables made
pesticide resistant by genetic modification. I live in Southern Italy, and
I love to pick the live snails out of the lettuce (which taste of
something!) and put them to work on the weeds growing out of the walls of
the 300-year old building we live in.
