Hi,
I'm the new National Development Coordinator for Cafe Scientifique.
We're an independent initiative aiming to set up 20 to 30 'Cafe' dialogue
groups across the UK in the next 3 years. We're supported by the Wellcome
Trust and are completely independent of science 'institutions' such as the
BA, the Royal Society and the Royal Institution and we aim to make science
accessible and accountable rather than promote science per se.
We're aiming to reach ordinary non-scientists and would like to see the day
when people are as opinionated about Science as they are about football.
The ICA event is one of a series that will kick off our presence in London.
We already operate in Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Norwich and Oxford.
Check out our (new) website for further info at www.cafescientifique.org (-
forgive the teething troubles for the next week or so -) or come along to
the event that's nearest you - or start your own Cafe Scientifique - the
website will tell you how to get going.
