Never heard of either of them, Doug. I did hear that the selection was done
partly by interviews before a three strong panel, only one of whom was a
poet. Rumour has it too that PR will allow a kind of space of the poetic
left in a future, a sort of occasional ghetto, y'know, Our Monthly Looney
Feature!
It's funny, isn't it, that PR, a magazine with, in real terms, still a small
circulation, is so carefully controlled. Perhaps that's an image of the
situation of poetry, we're allowed our little freedoms, as long as we don't
escape the kennels.
