Hi Arni and Doug
Thanks for the comments on the two poems. Both are part of a larger
experimental piece which I sent off for inclusion in a collaborative
internet art project. I have been working on sections on this
list, in various ways. Overall, the work is not poetry as distinct poems
but a collage like combination of poetry, prose and non-fiction quotes
called _In defence of kitchen cliches_. It usually gets put under the
heading of experimental writing which I do from time to time although
keep a little quiet about as I find snide reactions to this type of
writing and don't want to have to deal with this in direct
confronations. I'll leave that for the writing tactics like a nomadic
war machine. The funny thing is, despite this hostility which can be
expressed, when I do publish experimental writings in obscure out of the
way little journals or unheard of web sites, the response is far more
positive then I would have thought, having had shit put on me for doing
experimental writings.
Anyway, the response from where I sent the completed piece to was: this
is fantastic. I don't think I have ever had such a nice acceptance before.
Oh, and 'leftovers from a failure' is already a line in a published long
poem I wrote. I was just working on re-cycling parts of what is already
published into a new writing. working more with immanence in an
experimental sense, including re-cycling, in terms of links to a
cyber-kitchen aesthetic. So the intro actually ties into the work in
another way, although out of context as it was, I can understand how it
can appear unjustified.
And oh again, narrative as a process of hacking could well be a near
future minor literature, perhaps.
Do you know gonzo journalism? I just got some on the Bohemian Club boy
rape/murder conspiracy from the Zapatista list which I very much enjoyed
reading.
best
Chris Jones.
