I'm not sure this works -- WAS the jackdaw a member of the crow family?
Ravens, rooks, and crows are all Straight Black -- the jackdaw is
parti-coloured, black and white.
Not that I have much time for jackdaws, nasty evil creatures that they are,
and for all of me I wouldn't weep if they were exterminated -- but the crow
family?
Or have I got this wrong as so often?
Possibly.
But a kestrel was sure-as-hell +not+. Kestrels were birds-of-prey, lady's
hawks, no way remotely carrion-eaters. I +think+.
