Hi Anny,
No one mentioned (got?) the colors in my little poem, and that Americans often
default to the feminine when wistful about our country, that the sexual tension
(sex sells) of our lady seduces (and repulses). Two, that the sexual tension comes
by night, not the light of day where a more puritan stance is projected. The
dichotomy makes us all nuts!
That's one possible level of the poem. I think you got it in your description with
your references to " Marilyn Monroe in an Andy Warhol pic", very American.
Then again, there is the simpler level of plain observation on my part...
