And thanks for your remarks some time back about the puerility and
self-serving vanity of a lot of the anti-Americanism you encounter in
Italy.
Don't get me wrong - I'm heartsick about Bush and his gang, I intensely
wish they were not in charge, and I think that war against Iraq is being
urged for the wrong motives and at the wrong time. But the major
argument against it is that Al-Qaeda is still at large and is the
greater enemy - not only of my country, but of all of us.
I'm very tired after a day teaching, and feeling a bit melancholy. Hope
