You're right, Mark, sort of... "Richard Dillon," I have it on
unimpeachable authority, was three or so years back a Langpo
fellow-traveller and leading member of the New York branch of The
International Socialist Organization, a Trotskyist group that has
gained a bit of notorietry in past few years through its well-funded
publications, including the sometimes interesting Socialist Worker
newspaper. The ISO supported Ralph Nader in the past election
(much to its credit, imho), and I am told by my sources that Mr.
Dillon, who was one of the leaders of the ISO faction opposing
such a move as violation of the Fourth International's founding
principles (which categorically reject electoral support for
"bourgeois political parties") was expelled following the ISO's 2000
National Convention under suspicion of being a mole-provocateur
from the even-more far left International Spartacist League.
Since that time, Mr. Dillon has been appearing in nut-like persona
on the poetry lists, waving his finger like a Pat Robertson Langpo
Unabomber. My suspicion is that this is an intricate performance-
art set-up in preparation for a well-plotted poetry listserv Spartacist
recruitment campaign via "defamiliarization" psy-ops tactics culled
from the writings of the old Opayaz group. In the meantime, my
suggestion would be to sit back and just enjoy Mr. Dillon.
