I still have not acquired my copy of A Defense of Poetry, but I did
find that a recent issue of American Poetry Review (which I bought
for the Ashbery and Guest) contains half a dozen amazing poems by
Gabriel Gudding, showing great humour, immense weirdness, and vast
range. And a very cryptic reference to Bill Knott, one of my
favourite poets. Anyway, I'm loving GG's poems and, as soon as the
Xmas rush is over, I'm popping in to my local indie bookstore and
ordering the book.
I really have nothing to say about Forrest Gander, except that I
believe he partners with CD Wright, who is a very excellent poet and
a great reader of her own work. However, I thought that adding "&
gander" to my subject header would make it sound much nicer.
