Damn:
I really don't want to defend Israeli actions, or rather the actions of the
current party in power, & those of hetanhayu earlier, but talking about
disingenuous, whihc Bush's speeches certainly are, the following has to be
seen equally as such: " Of course, Iraq did attack Iran and
Kuwait, and Israel in the span of 30 years has attacked Egypt, Iraq,
Tunisia, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, not to mention Palestine, and not to
mention a civilian Libyan airliner that was downed by Israeli forces in
1973." I'm afraid the Arab world's refusal to accept that Israel is there
to stay, & various countries' attacks upon Israel, have made it possible
for such Israeli regimes to be elected, & to then do much of what they do
to what should be Palestine.
And I am not defending Israel's actions this past year in its dealings with
the Palestinians; merely suggesting that rhetoric like the above will in no
way help to change the minds of those who thus far are willing to believe
the Bush administration's version of the world.
Double damn.
