‘Mother’
As a foetus I suffered a visceral affection
dreaming of her slow breathing
through out my life
lying next to her
in smallness of composure
designing into my mind her mind.
Later I practised Adoration,
kneeling at her side as a young shepherd
in front of the crib of her heart,
nothing to offer but this gaze.
To sink into warm waters
and slowly drown, with eyes wide open
and a shaft of light
indicating the sun on the surface.
