Dear Mr Bircumshaw
Esteemed sir, I thank you for your correspondence on this subject. Until
recently, I was most unknowing of these matters, as English I have not long
met, but I would be thanking if you would let know a wider world of truth.
Johnson Kent's theft of my name and life is of great distress to me, more so
made by it being like but not like truth. A poet I am, yes, and of
Hiroshima, but I was not even born at Ground Zero time. My father it was who
lived at then, revered ticket collector on Japanese railway as he was, and
though I write haiku no renga they are as always they have been written.
What is this verse that is called 'free'? Who are these American poets, I
have never heard of any, why have I received no royalties from works
published in my name. Mr Ito, my friend, who works for a law firm, says I
have legal claim for recompensation. I do not eat fuku.
Johnson Kent has much to answer for.
Yours, respectfully
Araki Yasusada
