I'd just like to thank everybody for their advice/information!! It was very
helpful, especially William's insider report.
I do try to attend live readings, but as I'm currently living in a
culturally dead blue rinse grotto, I have to rely mainly on radio 4 and the
internet. This mailing list is manna from heaven in that respect.
One of the reasons I'm applying for postgrad courses is because I need to
mix with people who don't keep their brains locked up in the china cabinet.
But Douglas is right, the sheer volume of prospectuses is overwhelming.
Where do I want to go? Oxford because that's where Ermina is and I love her
poems, East Anglia because of its reputation, and Hull for no other reason
than that like the sound of the city and university and the lecturer I spoke
to sounded really approachable. But they don't offer creative writing so
that would have to be a research degree.
Thanks again
