For reasons I now forget I intended posting this a few weeks
ago but I couldnt find it on disk. But tonight I remembered
where it was. It is the third of a sequence of twenty minimalist
poems I wrote in the winter of 1971/2 and is far from the best.
But six books and three pamphlets later it struck a chord
in me so I post it. The sequence is on the Web titled
'civilisation: a diary'.
before dawn
deepest midnight;
ceremonial.
just arsing about with poetry
the books are written,
love spent.
my question:
whither?
