Tasmanian Pacific Region Prizes - on 30 May 2002 the Premier of
Tasmania, Jim Bacon, announced two new literary prizes. The Premier said
the two new Biennial Prizes would complement the Tasmania Pacific Fiction
Prize - the richest literary award developed in Australia.
There are now three major literary prizes:
- The 2003 Tasmania Pacific Fiction Prize is a $40,000 Biennial Prize
(closing 1 July 02)
- The 2003 Tasmania Pacific Poetry Prize is an inaugural $10,000 Biennial
Prize (closing 1 July 02)
- The 2004 Bicentenary History Prize is an inaugural $25,000 Prize (closing
to be advised - 2003)
Nominations will be accepted from Publishers. The nomination fee for
International publishers is $50, for Australian publishers the cost is $55
(GST inclusive).
