Thank you, Alison, I was getting quite saggy under the weight of the rusting
armour.
I think, as Chris Jones pointed out, this desire for a return to +close+
reading (vide Richards and the New Criticism) is quite interesting, but I
have no intention nor mood to enter the ideological lists on this at
present.
