FROM: Benedict de Spinoza _The Ethics_ , Part 1. Concerning God.
PROP. XI. God, or substance, consisting of infinite attributes,
of which each expresses eternal and infinite essentiality,
necessarily exists.
Proof.-If this be denied, conceive, if possible, that God
does not exist : then his essence does not involve existence.
But this (Prop. vii.) is absurd. Therefore God necessarily
exists.
If one of the truly great materialists can say this... who am I to disagree?
Poetry is infinite attribute of God. Poets do not write their own poems.
Poems are written by some-one else other then myself. Poetry is written with
the hand of God. Zarathrusthra says God is dead. Zarathrustra is God. God is
plane of immanence. Poetry essentially expresses eternity and infinity.
Poetry is infinite.
Just a thought (and sorry, I'm not really up to debating the rights or wrongs
of Spinoza.... one can be quite silly. It is fun.)
