To be with the nation is to be with the people which is a
strategic question in terms of writing. Do writers need to be with the
people?
I cant let you away with this conflation Chris! 'The nation' is an ideology.
Borders are permeable and leaky things constantly crossed and recrossed. My
sense is that poets should be among the refugees not the border patrols!
(Poetry is uncertain unreliable and constantly melting too)
