Hi Jill.
Wagga Wagga, Goonoo Goonoo? What's the deal with echolalia in
Australalia. Echolalic names seem to feature in farflung places, for
instance the Hamma Hamma river (mentioned in that poem) is in the Pacific
Northwest here in the states, whereas Sing Sing is a prison in New York
state (the Atlantic Northeast). I am writing this from a town called
"Normal, Illinois," which is in the middle of the US, so I'm inclined to
think everything's "farflung." Does Normal, Illinois sound farflung to you?
ONly last night, by the way, I was in Rhode Island. I think the Yarra Yarra
lakes are also in Australia.
They have the APR in Australalia? Wow! The Barbara Guest stuff is pretty
cool. I wrote the poems they published there 4 to 6 years ago -- and no
longer write that way anymore, so it goes. There are two of them on the web
now, you know. http://www.aprweb.org/issues/current/
THere's a brief essay by Guest on the website too.
