‘Market Place’
daylight morning chill hectic voices
I walk about in a world that counts
where every sound and every image
is explicable and significant
the vegetable trader makes me astound,
the fruit seller calls me out loud: someone’s mouth
opens to words with an intend
on the opposite pole the iron of the utterance
‘Mercato’
luce diurna gelo del mattino voci concitate
m’aggiro in un mondo che conta
dove ogni suono ogni immagine
è accessibile e ha significato
l’ortolano mi fa trasalire il fruttivendolo
m’ attrae gridando: la bocca di qualcuno
si dischiude a parole fondate
al polo opposto il ferro della frase
