It's interesting, Robin, that Finlay is still so left out in Scotland,
admittedly he may feel a bit more under attack than he is, but...
it does seema shame that the Scottish Arts Board (at least the last time I
was there & we talked (we were with Stephen Scobie, who has long known him
& remains a friend) continues to leave him out in the cold. While elsewhere
in Europe, he is recognized as a major artist of our time. I agree with the
rest of Europe on this matter.... (& that so much of his truly 'concrete'
work is collaborative is only a further sign of his thorough immersion in
both th classical & the contemporary, eh).
