We, in Oxford, are one of the 150 readings scheduled worldwide during the
week of 17, March 2002.
Our collective aim is to celebrate the UNESCO World Poetry day within the
week of Dialogue Through Poetry.
The Oxford ethical theme will be introduced by philosopher Brian Clack,
talking about the role of poetry in History and Society, in accordance to
the international theme " Can poetry help create a culture of peace and
non-violence in the world?"
The event will be proceeded by a poetry reading at Borders’ Book shop –
time 2.00/3.30 pm.
The afternoon reading will feature writers (poetically) old and new such
as:
Rip Bulkley, Brain Leviston, Jeremy Hilton, Cate Whetzel, Yannis
Philippaleis, Aditi Thorat and Rachel Becker.
