I'm really enjoying the poems again. It's tapping an incredibly rich
vein - I'm glad it's going for six weeks, because I'm fascinated to
see what evolves - I'm following a few individuals - perhaps
mistakenly - as sequences (are Frederick's from a series? is Lawrence
writing a series? what's Mairead doing? etc).

Why thanks, Erminia, though all resemblances to saints living or dead
are of course purely satirical and anyone who detects the influence
of Douglas Adams is probably correct. I pinched the locutions and
ideas from a translation of the Life of Brigid, some of whose
miracles involved various degrees of gruesomeness (besides having
fun, of course). I had this vague idea of trying a different formal
mode of narration each week -
