This really does baffle me.
I grew up with the cliché that USAmericans Are Rude.
But the ones who bump you off the pavement on London Streets are Londoners.
(US)America is almost un-nervingly polite, either here or there.
Got to the stage where if i were to be mugged in New York, I'd assume I'd be
+politely+ mugged.
You can (rightly?) knock America for lots of things, but damn, they sure is
politer than we.
