Dear Erminia
That seems very harsh on Emma, and a little uncalled for. She makes
no particular claims for her process, and would be the first to say
it is not "original". Neither is she interested in parody, though
her work does possess a very idiosyncratic kind of irony. She is a
particularly private poet. It is simply how she works, and the
results are to my my mind very interesting indeed. You can find some
of Emma's work in A Chide's Alphabet at

My point was simply that I was intrigued that some people felt
defrauded when they learned of how she does it, that it stripped away
some idea of authenticity which they felt had to be there in order to
respond feelingly to a work.
