Hello everyone,
My name is Cathi and as my final year project I was looking at the effect of
rearfoot wedging on 1st MTPJ function. For this an O'Brien goniometer was
used. Until recently I was sure that some research regarding it's
reliability would turn up during the trawl for articles but I am now
dispairing of this.
Langer were advertising one (no longer obtainable) but when I contacted them
were only able to suggest I contact Tim Kilmartin- so if you are out there Dr
Kilmartin I would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction-
or if anyone else knows of other studies involving one I would be very
grateful.
Also, during my research I have found references to 2 articles I believe I
would benefit greatly from reading:
Bartold, S: The Biomechanics of Plantar Fascial Injury: Calcaneal Inversion
Does Not Reduce Plantar Fascial Strain. Book of Abstracts from the 18th
Australian Podiatry Conference, 1998.
and
Kogler, G.F., Veer, F.B., Solomonidis, S.E., Paul, J.P.: The Influence of
Medial and Lateral Orthotic Wedges on Loadingof the Plantar Aponeurosis. Book
of Abstracts from the 9th World Congress of the International Society For
Prosthetics And Orthotics 1998; 579-581.
I hope this isn't an unreasonable request/query, and obviously will be very
grateful for any help that anyone is able to give. Thank you for taking the
time to read this anyway - Cathi.
