I heard somewhere that technically you are right as the NHS trust would be
sued not the podiatrist but theoretically if they wanted to the trust could
then sue YOU to get their money back. I'm not sure if this has ever happened
but don't give up your own insurance until you find out for sure. Thinking
about it though they could surely only sue you if malpractice was proved but
the NHS usually tries to settle out of court in which case would suing you
then be possible? Give Thompson's solicitors a call, it seems like we are
all paying for them to give us 'free' legal advice so we might as well use
it ;-)
