This document provides information on sources of funding for study at the
University of Edinburgh. The list is by no means exhaustive, but it is
intended to give you a head start if you have applied or are considering
making an application to study at the University. If you are from North
America, you should refer to a seperate document which is available from

Employment in Edinburgh
If you are from a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA), you
are only permitted to obtain employment in the UK if the work does not
interfere with your studies and no suitable EEA resident is available to
fill the post. International students at Edinburgh sometimes obtain
part-time work during the course of their studies and there is a Clearing
House service which advertises employment opportunities within the
University. You must not, however, rely upon this as a source of income
and you will be required to provide evidence of sufficient financial
support before you are admitted to the University.
Research, Teaching and Demonstrating
Postgraduate research students occasionally obtain part-time employment as
research, teaching or - in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Science &
Engineering - demonstrating assistants. You should not rely upon this as
a source of income.
