8 Challenging Strategic Project 8 Personal development
8 Attractive location
Bournemouth Churches Housing Association (BCHA) in association with
Bournemouth University Business School, wish to appoint a high-calibre
Information Management or Decision Support graduate to a project of
strategic importance.
This is a challenging opportunity to make a significant impact on an
organisation's business and to develop your own career potential. You would
be a key team member promoting change within a business environment as well
as influencing both local and national strategies. Employed by the
University as a Teaching Company Scheme (TCS) Associate you would be working
in the BCHA offices in Bournemouth with the support of University staff and
with access to the facilities of both organisations.
BCHA via its network of hostels, houses, and floating support, provides
accommodation, care and support to homeless or vulnerable people and others
in housing need in Dorset. Already employing over 130 staff, BCHA is a
significant provider of these services in this area, with a number of new
projects being implemented during the next six months. This TCS project will
address the way in which the organisation needs to evolve, especially
regarding knowledge management systems, so as to maintain and develop that
service within new Government initiatives - with particular reference to
Supporting People 2003.
The Teaching Company Scheme (TCS) is a long established government
initiative encouraging collaboration between universities and organisations
to promote the transfer of know-how. Its primary aim is to help those
organisations, whatever their size, implement strategic changes of direct
benefit. There have been over 2000 successful projects since the inception
of the TCS and Bournemouth University operates a Teaching Company Scheme
Centre involving a number of such partnerships.
Applicants should have a degree in an appropriate subject at post-graduate
or first/upper second class honours level. Relevant experience would be
desirable - such as in change management, development of systems strategy or
knowledge management/decision support - as would empathy with the goals of
BCHA. This is a two year fixed term contract.
