Subject: Dust/Bacteria Exposure
Can anyone help.
I am, doing some work in a chicken slaughter/ processing plant . Concerns have
been raised re the exposure to dust /campylobacter/ other bacteria during the
hanging of live birds on the conveyor. Camplylobacter is a contact risk but the
birds do flap a bit sometimes and excreta and detritis may splash on to the
operastors. General dust ia also generated and airborne bacteria has also been
detected. Question is what doe the results mean ? What standards doe we use as
guidance ?
Any ideas ?
Cheers
