Yes
According to some Charted institue of builders, or some such body, relative
humidity levels between 40-70% is fine with the optimum being 40-55%. I used
to use a whirling hygrometer on the oil platforms for checking humidity
levels in variohus rooms.
As for temperatures, I think it was a Dr Fangor and his team who researched
this. Legal minimum is 16c but optimum for the average Brit is about 21-24c.
There is also a term PPD - percentage of population dissatisfied which means
there will be some people who are not happy with the ambient conditions.
I will be leaving my present job at Ciba Specialty Chemicals at the end of
December and start a new job in January. For those interested my new email
address will be

Subject: humidity levels in offices
Hi
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the right humidty levels for
the temperature levels usually experienced in offices please. I would have
thought there is a British Standard, but having smurfed the net, I have not
got anywhere so I thought I'd ask my learned colleagues!
Many thanks for your help again
Best wishes for the seasons festivity !
